It has come to my attention that some controllers are denying VFR to pilots based on weather.
Can you please ensure all your controllers are very aware this is not allowed. Pilots, as you all know, can set any weather they wish within the simulator. A controller may advise them of the network weather and ask for confirmation they wish to proceed VFR. However if they do, then it should be allowed.
As in the real world, we do not “police” the air.
This should never be used as a strategy if too busy to deal with the tfc. If on a busy CTR sector and the tfc is in an out of the way field, it remains to be acceptable for the controller to let them know they are too busy to offer services.
Thanks!
