Level up your FlightRadar24!

Found a nice video from Andrew Morkunas (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TX9qYM1Oas) and gave it a go for CYYZ. Credits to the facilities engineers for the waypoints and airspace coordinates in the SCT file. You will need at least a Silver account with FR24 to get Radar View or feed ADS-B data which is cheaper in the long term (FlightAware flight stick is what I use).

.out; .wpt; and basestation.ini for the 23/24 up at the moment. Will chip away at the other configs at some point. Use the settings menu to upload in FR24. You might have to set the “Land” to black under “Style” to match. https://github.com/ronyan/can-fr24-vidmap

Magnetic variance is pretty obvious when comparing to ES if the angle feels off 😉 (FlightRadar24 shows True North up). Sadly, not much traffic in the real world these days, but fire up LiveATC and follow along with the real world controllers.
It takes a bit of time to do the conversions but should work for any facility (would be nice to crowdsource if anyone tackles any other facility 😊 )

I’ve tried this in the past as well, definitely interesting to see the real traffic on ‘your’ scope!

I’ll look into doing Winnipeg’s around the next couple of weeks, it will give me something to do given the time we see ourselves in!
