I'm happy to announce the VATCAN executive has appointed Yanick Coulombe as interim Chief for CZUL.
Yanick was previously webmaster for CZUL and was instrumental in helping coordinate training, getting in touch with existing students and providing sector files necessary to get our training program running again. His familiarity of the airspace, continued online presence and eagerness to relaunch Montreal will be beneficial to all pilots and Montreal controllers alike.

Il me fait plaisir d'accepter le rôle de Chef intérim de la FIR de Montréal et merci pour cette opportunité. Il y a à peine deux ans de cela, jamais je ne me serais vue dans ce rôle. Seulement S3 et je ne suis pas dans les top contrôleurs de la FIR. Bien que je voyais qu'il y avait un manque dans le fonctionnement, je n'étais pas équipé pour venir en aide directement au problème. Comme vous le mentionnez, j'ai obtenu le rôle de web-master qui était vacant à ce moment. Mon but était de m'impliquer de quelque façon que possible pour aider la situation. À partir de ce moment, j'ai commencé involontairement à m'impliquer de plus en plus avec VATCAN aditionellement et plusieurs choses ont découlés à partir de ce moment. Longue histoire courte: j'ai entre autre réalisé que mes 10 ans comme membre de la communauté m'avaient donné plusieurs outils indispensables alors dans les circonstances, j'ai senti le devoir de représenter la FIR de Montréal et de défendre ses intérêts. Aujourd'hui, je suis convaincu que ma nomination comme Chef Intérim me permettra de contribuer positivement au bon déroulement des opérations ATC les autres services connexes offerts par la FIR.

I am pleased to accept the role of interim Chief for the Montréal FIR and thank you for the opportunity. Two years ago from now, I wouldn't see myself in this role. Only S3 and not in the top controllers of the FIR. I could see the lack of operation, but I was not equipped to help the problem directly. Like you mentioned, I obtained the role of web master whose was vacant at the time. My goal was to get involved any way possible to help the situation. From that point on, I started unintentionally getting more and more involved with VATCAN additionally and many things unfolded at this point. Long story short: between other things, I realized that my 10 years as a member of the community gave me many essential tools. Therefore, in the circumstances I felt I had the duty to represent the Montréal FIR and defend its interests. Today I am convinced that my nomination as interim Chief will allow me to positively contribute to the quality and efficiency of ATC operations and other related services offered by the FIR.
Je vais communiquer plus de détails sous peu pour annoncer les changements et ce qui s'en vient à très court terme pour la FIR dans un message séparément. Par contre, sans plus de délai je vais adresser deux questions immédiatement:
-Le Training: OUI, présentement nous venons d'établir une équipe d'instructeurs actifs et près ainsi qu'un fonctionnement durable en marche pour l'entrainement. Je suis fier de vous annoncer qu'à partir de maintenant il n'y aura plus de délais déraisonnables pour les étudiants à Montréal. - The Training: YES, now we just established a team of active instructors who are ready and a durable training operation running. I am proud to announce that from now on, there will be no unreasonable delays for students at Montréal.
