Worldflight is an Australian virtual organization that raises money every year by making flights around the world. This year, on Wednesday, November 7th, they will arrive at Ottawa at approximately 2330z (6:30pm local) and will depart for Minneapolis approximately 50 minutes later at 0200z (7:20pm local). In order to have ATC online, we will need Ottawa Ground, Ottawa Tower, Ottawa Terminal and Toronto Centre. It is a great opportunity to control Ottawa since it does not happen often for an event. If you want to signup, keep in mind that since it's a flight around the world, times are approximate and may vary from half an hour to an hour. Make sure that you will be able to adjust before signing up.

Hi George

I am available to control if you are shorted staffed. Ottawa is my home airport and I have visiting rights with CZUL to control Ottawa.

Ottawa is controlled by the Montreal FIR. Has Toronto been asked to assist with staff or are you just being pro-active in helping out?!

Thanks for the question Tomas. As we both know CYOW is in Montreal's airspace but Toronto controls it when MTL is offline. To be frank lately that is 99% of the time.

The vatsim board, as well as Worldflight themselves, both approached me to ensure the airspace is covered for this high profile event. I did point out that it should be Montreal but they specifically asked us to cover. Based on that I agreed.

This is a bit off topic but Matt Smith or Chewwy94 will be hosting SimfestUK stream when he is not live at https://www.twitch.tv/chewwy94 or you can watch on the SimfestUK channel at https://www.twitch.tv/simfestuk.
