ATC Controllers Forum / CANscope Plugin Location
« on: April 20, 2020, 08:13:14 PM »
I've received several emails over the past couple of days about where to find CANscope, and thought I should clarify it.

It can be found at

The CANscope plugin's purpose is to add the tracking controller ID over radar targets like the ones that can be found with NAVCanada's real systems. It looks like this:

In case you are interested, this is how real systems look:

Although this new install method doesn't include the (very outdated) sector files that came with the old installation, you can sector files from your FIR's website.

To install the CANscope plugin into your scope, follow the steps found below (you should do this after you have downloaded your FIR's sector file):

1. Install CANscope from the Github directory

2. Extract the files to somewhere memorable, I recommend adding it into your Euroscope folder

3. Open up Euroscope with your FIR's sector file

4. Click on 'Other SET' then on 'Plug-ins...'

5. Load the CANscope.dll plug-in from where you placed it in Step 1

6. Allow the CANscope plug-in to draw on 'Standard ES radar screen'

Now you will get the controller IDs above the radar targets.

ATC Controllers Forum / New EuroScope Beta
« on: April 12, 2020, 12:42:54 PM »
For all of you that are interested, there was a new EuroScope Beta released today! You can find it at

Be advised: FOR MOST OF YOU, I would NOT recommend updating. The built-in EuroScope ATIS no longer works, as the ATIS won't prime. It's also slightly unstable right now. See below:

New features

  • Speed options down to 60 KTS in popup menu.
  • All frequencies are displayed in 3 digits.
  • Upgrade to VisualStudio 2019 and toolset 142. I included the necessary Microsoft DLLs to the ZIP file, but if you faile to start the new version install the latest redistributable package from Microsoft:
  • Complete removal of the old VATSIM voice library. Voice dialog contains only the necessary columns. Voice ATIS is not yet discarded, but unoperational.
  • Connect dialog reconfigured to fit on smaller notebook screens.
  • Complete removal of the ASE download options.

Bug fixes

  • Direct without coordination (RIGHT mouse click) is published to all controllers, and text message is copied to the command line for /T pilots.

The new connection dialog look...

Most of the voice communication setup has been removed...

Will add on if I find anything new.

Nate and I are very glad with how the event went today, we had everyone show up, do their jobs correctly and everything went smoothly. Shoutout to James White for the stellar job on CYQT_APP, even though he didn’t expect the traffic he received, he handled it very well. We are truly showing pilots that the Winnipeg FIR is a great place to fly on VATSIM!

Toronto, thanks for doing this event with us! Hopefully it was as fun for you guys as it was for us, let’s hope for many more in the future!
