Title: WorldFlight crosses through CZQM
Post by: Jeff McMillan on November 07, 2018, 04:38:27 PM
CZQM was honored to participate in WorldFlight again this year which is a “virtual” round the world flight to raise money for the Australian Royal Flying Doctor Service. The concept of a virtual, round the world flight for charity was started by a team in the United Kingdom and has spawned an annual event with participants all over the globe.

The World flight teams departed Thule AFB and stopped in Goose bay for an hour before departing to Ottawa. CZQM provided their own ATC services to approximately 30 aircraft and did not require any support from the WorldFlight Controller Support Team.

Big shout out to Jim Allan, Steve Osterbomber, Mark Walsh, Michael McConnell and Jagard Strong for ensuring CZQM was fully staffed for the event. This event took place during mid afternoon on a weekday which is always challenging to staff.
